    Job Overview:

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of needs, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure each child reaches their full potential, both academically and socially.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in delivering tailored educational programs, including one-to-one and small group support.

    • Support students with a variety of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

    • Foster a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment.

    • Help with classroom preparation, resource development, and record-keeping.

    • Encourage the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.

    • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic support.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience working with children, particularly in an SEND setting (preferred but not essential).

    • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting children with diverse needs.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • A flexible and adaptable approach to meet individual pupil needs.

    • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.

  • We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our team at Westbury School, an independent school in Shropshire dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs. Your role will be vital in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

    Job Overview:

    As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school premises, including classrooms, corridors, staff areas, and other facilities. You will ensure that all areas are hygienic and well-presented to support the well-being of our students.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, and communal areas, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and emptying bins.

    • Maintain hygiene in washrooms and restock supplies as necessary.

    • Ensure the safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

    • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate staff.

    • Follow health and safety regulations, especially in relation to safeguarding our students.

    • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard, contributing to a safe and pleasant learning environment.

    Requirements:

    • Previous cleaning experience (preferable, but not essential).

    • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of cleanliness.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

    • An understanding of the importance of health and safety regulations.

    • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo the check).

Ideally with experience in residential care and an awareness of child protection & safeguarding, however not essential as full training will be given. We provide a competitive salary and good training and performance bonuses.

    You will be expected to provide high quality care for up to 4 young people. This will include supporting our young people physically and emotionally. The main function of this role is the responsibility to provide a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring the best possible care to our young people.

    Salary is dependant on qualifications and experience, the competitive salary also includes additional pay for sleep ins - £62.74 per sleep and performance bonuses.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    To ensure all residential services are provided to the highest standard and in a manner that promotes a culture of continuous development/improvement and strives to secure best outcomes for all children and young people.

    To provide leadership and support to staff teams to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to young people.

    Act as a leader, role model and coordinator of shifts, fully deputising for the Registered Home Manager in their absence.

    To lead the development of the young person’s Care Plan ensuring its delivery daily and ensuring that all the basic physical needs of the young person are met, providing guidance to colleagues in this regard, communicating goals, objectives and practice to staff teams to support development.

    To provide leadership and guidance to support decision making that is always in the best interests of the young people and the organisations; actively monitoring and providing feedback to individuals.

    To know, understand and role model Unique Care Group’s cultural and behavioural expectations as an outstanding provider.

    To understand and apply safeguarding practices and processes to ensure young people are protected.

    Willingness to work towards a funded level 5 qualification in leadership and management.

    Participate in the on-call rota as required adhering to the on-call policy and delivering the service to the standard expected by the organisation.

    Skills and Experiences:

    Must be an experienced individual holding an NVQ/Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualifications.

    To act in a manner that is always befitting of Unique Care Group as a provider of children’s services and in line with the organisation’s values.

    To apply a comprehensive understanding of Unique Care Group’s policies and procedures as an employee and all aspects of working practices.

    To understand and apply safeguarding practices and processes.

    To communicate effectively with staff teams about regulatory requirements to support the homes delivery of high-quality care.

    To contribute actively to the strategic developments of all aspects of the home, including a homely environment -planning, organising, and delegating to others to assist in this process.

    To coordinate and take a lead in carrying out tasks and maintain all relevant records pertaining to Health & Safety, fire safety and other records as directed by your line manager providing direction to colleagues in this regard.

    To actively monitor working practices of the home and provide feedback to staff teams regarding quality and standards.
